I’m Thankful

These past few weeks have been pretty tough because of drama going on with my family and work and stuff.  Luckily yesterday night and this morning made me realize how lucky I am to have certain resources that help me get through this kind of stuff

First of all, I’m so thankful for my old lab.  Yesterday there was a dinner party at my old postdoc’s house, and it was soo nice to see everyone.  They were amazingly sweet to me, and it felt like we were part of a big family.  All of this made me feel so much better since I was starting to have some doubts about my character/friendliness because of the response I’ve gotten from the new lab (which so far hasn’t been the friendliest). It’s just really nice to know that I have somewhere where I feel like i can belong even if things don’t get better with this rotation.

This morning I ended up talking to Naeem’s mom for a while, and I’m so glad to have both her and Naeem’s sis-in-law to talk to as I go through this mess with my family.  Talking to both of them makes me feel stronger about my decision and keeps me sane as more drama goes on.  I’m really glad that I have these two strong women in my life who I can look towards as role models as I’m going through this.
