Blog Fail

Sorry for not updating, things just got a bit crazy around here and I wasn’t really sure of what to write.  I think I might go back to the whole 5 things I’m thankful for format because I think it’ll force me to update this thing more often.

Anyway, here’s a brief summary of my life since the last update!

Berkeley was great! Albeit the weird temperatures (the 80 degree days and the 60 degree nights took some getting used to!) But everyone in the MCB program over there was really nice! I ended up getting to hang out with Eric, Shaon, Phil, and Christina (bff from UCSD interview!) and Nicole, which was really nice! Naeem and I also got to take mini trips to the Mission (yay Mexican Food!) and Pier 39 (woo sea lions!!) I also got to go to a party with the first year MCB and met a lot of nice people, which was great!

Then I came back to Pasadena, and was bummed for a little bit.  I got some business done (like registering for classes and setting up direct deposit) on Monday, then went to lab for the first time on Tuesday.  Lab was really great! My PI is super nice, the project sounds interesting, the post doc I’m working with is great. and generally everyone around lab is really nice.  And for the first time ever I have a bench AND a desk :) It’s wonderful!! I also met my class for the first time which was nice too.

Wednesday was uneventful.  We had a very small bio orientation, and then I went to lab.  We had pizza at group meeting which was great! Then I got to sort out flies, which wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be :D :D

Thursday and Friday were full days of orientation, which was good but a bit overwhelming! I ended up meeting a lot of new people, and going to some really informative sessions :)

Todays just been lazy so far.  I ran some errands, went to a club fair and signed up for orgs here (gosh I feel like a freshman again!), then grocery shopping with the roomie, and possibly going DT with caltech grad students (wonder how that’ll be)
